Lynx Creek Leading Edge Longbows, Leading Edge Recurves, and Razor Bakk Recurves are hand built, one-at-a-time, using state-of-the-art designs and the highest quality materials to meet individual requirements. This elite limited edition takes these traditional longbows and recurves to the next level. We marry our innovative bow designs with rare and exotic woods offering exhibition grade figure and contrast. We then take the time to finish them to heirloom quality.
The Leading Edge Longbow represents the latest evolution of this 5,000 year old technology. It combines the smoothness of a handle forward design with slim trim radically reflexed limbs for a bow that is smooth and very fast.
The Razor Bakk Recurve takes the ageless Turkish recurve into the 21st Century using modern materials and techniques as well as up-to-date limb designs. The compact design of its deflexed riser contributes significantly to arrow speed while the limb design ensures that this bow gains only about 2 lbs per inch through normal draw lengths. This smooth transmission of power ensures quiet, consistent, and predictable arrow flight. This compact bow is light weight and very quiet.
The Leading Edge Recurve, offered in 54”and 56” lengths, combines the handle forward design of our longbow with our own recurve limbs to provide a short, fast, smooth bow that is particularly well suited to ground blinds and turkey hunting.
These Safari “Exhibition Grade” bows are built only on a custom order basis in lengths and draw weights to meet individual specifications and with handle shapes to suit individual shooting styles. Let us build you an original!
Riser woods range from quilted bubinga or highly figured bokote to super fancy cocabola or rare black and white ebony, on their own or in combination.
Similarly limb woods can range from bamboo to zebrawood. Diamondback Rattlesnake can be laminated to longbow limbs for an even more exotic touch.
African horn is used on limb tips and as riser overlays on these unique bows. For example, a miniature spiralled kudu horn can be fashioned out of the “real” thing and sculpted to form an integral part of the riser/grip.
These traditional bows also come complete with an extra string and deer hide bow sock.
